I finally ordered a few 4" x 24" belts for my Ridgid oscillating and spindle sander after wanting to try another brand for some time. I used the Diablo brand belts one can get from Home Depot for years. Those belts are typically only available in a 3-pack and are about 19 bucks. They have 50, 80 and 120 grit belts. I use the sander for heavy stock removal almost all of the time and, as such, I would rarely use the 120 grit belts.
You can buy 9 belts from Maverick for about 20 bucks. These belts last much longer than the Diablo belts. They also stay clean and are useable over the entire width of the belt. I noticed the Diablo belts seem to wear heavily in the middle of the belts. The Diablo belts are directional and the Maverick belts seem not to be. I am very happy with the Maverick belts and will try other products from them as needed.

I needed these for my sander and like everything I have purchased they work amazing. I started buying sandpaper for my 5” ROS and now this is the only place I buy sandpaper. Rolls for my drum sander are better than anything else I have tried. I have no idea if they have customer support because everything has been of excellent quality I have no complaints!!!

After a brief break in period, where they seemed closer to a 100 grit belt, they do soften up a bit. Might try a 150 grit the next time around. Hopefully the shipping will be faster.

These are great sanding belts! They last a long time, and give an excellent finish. They are the perfect touch for the end of a job to make the wood look it's best.
I disagree that sanding is not fun! Sanding is the best part of the project when the beauty of the wood is revealed in full measure, and the results of all the effort really begin to glow! With good quality sanding papers and belts, the project will always look it's best.

I am a retired woodworker (musical instruments, the Barker Bass) who now has a home shop. I know the virtue of quality abrasives and the economic benefit of buying the best. I'm currently building a cycle kart, which requires the use of different materials from several disciplines.
